Hi kids! So today my dad made some dill pickles. We tried making kosher pickles but the smelled foul 🙁 (We did not eat them don’t worry). Okay, lets get started.
First he got the cucumbers and sauces. Then I got the dill.
When we went back I washed the dill.
Then he cut the cucumbers into four pieces each and put them in four jars. He smashes garlic then chops the garlic into pieces. Then he put the garlic in with the cucumbers. As he was doing that he was also making brine, brine is a liquid that preserves things like cucumbers that turn into pickles. But you can pickle all sorts of things, carrots, cauliflower, beets, etc.
I stuck the dill in all of them, then he poured the brine into the cucumbers and put them in the refrigerator.
It was very hot.
He also put some pepper flakes at the bottom.
Grace
P.S. And remember, try new things kids!
